Hello and Welcome - Day 1 of My Blog ~ Day 98 of My Journey

First let me tell you that I actually started a weight lose journey back in January 2010. I successfully lost 20 lbs in the first two months without exercise by strictly changing what I ate and drinking more water.
By March 2010, however I stopped what was working, without even having an excuse or reason why. I just plain stopped. I still didn't go back to all of my old habits but I did start to eat a little bit here and there that I shouldn't have and by Christmas I had gained the 20 lbs back.

Like many, the New Year is a good reason to set new goals or make a resolution so once again I decided this was it. I drug my feet the first 25 days of January and then decided enough was enough.

On January 25th 2011 I weighed 270 lbs but even saw the scale fluctuate on some days as high as 276lbs. It scared me and sickened me so I think I finally told myself if I didn't do something this time, and stick with it, I would forever be fat and unhealthy. I didn't want that.

Let me backtrack here for a second. I do have to tell you that I have back problems, peripherial neuropathy, a drop foot and suffer from failed back surgery and irreversible nerve damage that has historically prevented me from working out. I have had numerous surgeries and have a spinal cord stimultor implant to aid in my pain management. For 10 years I have led a very sedentary lifestyle since 2000 when my problems began and became disabled in 2008 so it is even more important that I pay attention to what goes in my mouth because most of it ends up stored as fat in my gut or on my bum.
My Blog starts a little more than 3 months into my weight loss journey. Since January 25th, 2011 I have lost 21.5 lbs.
